I was blessed to grow up in a family that loved God and went to church regularly. Because of that influence, I learned about my need for Christ at a very early age. My understanding of God was limited but I did understand, even as a young boy, that without Christ, my life was never going to be good enough to earn Heaven. I did understand that Jesus had died for me on the cross to pay the price for my sins. Although at a young age I had not committed any horrible crimes or committed some great sin, I still was lost spiritually and the price for my sins had not been paid. I realized that if I would ask Jesus to forgive me of my sins and invite Him into my heart, that He would forgive me, save me and give me the hope of Heaven when I die. I prayed a prayer and asked Jesus to do just those things and my life has never been the same! I wish that I had a testimony of a perfect life and no mistakes but that is not true. I have slipped and fallen spiritually throughout my life. What I have come to understand is that there are no perfect people. What has kept me close to God is realizing that He has always stood beside me and given me the opportunity to get back up and try again. Through all my weaknesses, mishaps and mistakes, God has never left me. He has always forgiven me, and I am a better man today because of the change that God has made in my life. I am a blessed man with a wonderful life, a wonderful family and a great church, but the greatest thing in my life is Jesus! He has changed my life both here and in eternity!
